a sunlit room is given the perfect balance of childlike playfulness and vintage charm. Here, a child can entertain her friends, have tea parties with her toys and have a space to call her own.
the bedroom walls in this 1930’s apartment building were skim coated , new moulding applied and the paint colour chosen by the inhabitant herself. The bed has a pull out trundle for visitors and the headboard, roman shade and bedskirt are all custom made.
We were asked to design a room for a little girl to truly call her own. She wanted her own sanctuary that delighted her without having to fit in with any design element or style in the rest of the home. The room was not to be so ‘precious’ that it would matter if anything was spilled on the floor or if a few pen marks made their way onto the bedding. We believe that having a space to love from a young age encourages a great sense of self.
“My new room makes me feel so special. I think it loves me as much as I love it! Also, this purple is my favorite color; I helped pick it out.”
